Preparation for Sleep Test

Your sleep study will consist of EEG (brain waves), ECG (heart rhythm), EMG (muscle tone and movement), airflow, respiratory effort, and oxygen saturation. Your physician may order additional parameters for monitoring that will be explained to you at the time of your study.

It is very important that you take a shower and completely dry your hair before arriving for your study. For proper electrode attachment, we will also need you to be clean-shaven (no NEW hair growth, established facial hair is acceptable), with no hair products (hair spray, mousse, gel, etc.), and no make-up or lotions. We must be able to access your scalp in multiple places. Please complete all of the questionnaires and forms in this sleep packet. If the instructions above have not been completed it may affect the outcome of your study. This will also help speed up the check-in process when you arrive. Bring any snacks or drinks that you may require. We have a microwave and a refrigerator

Your Sleep Study appointment will be completed at approximately 5:15 a.m. the following morning.

A minimum of 6 hours study time is required for appropriate diagnostic. If you have any questions feel free to call our office and one of our knowledgeable staff members will be happy to speak with you.

Thank you,
Scheduling Team
